The Agro-Pastoral network

Due to a constantly increasing network and the highly-concentrated population in Mopti, the problems of city's sewage, pollution and sanitation have become major political issues involving both the local, national and international actors. These actors' goal consists in considering rapid solutions to the environmental and health risks that can cause these problems and avoid the dangers they imply for crops and local productions. The choice for RESO-Femmes, to create an agro-pastoral network taking into account the sanitation problems, is a more effective mean of intervention, and move towards a better positioning of women in decision-making spheres. In this sector, women want to improve the situation of their members and solve the precariousness of the poorest populations in the city, whose vegetable plots were relocated outside it, in favour of a growing land speculation.

Agro-pastoral

The agricultural sector supported by RESO-Femmes aims at unifying the various associations' activities (gardening, seeds cultivation, poultry, livestock production, etc.), and focusing on a joint project that meets the objective of his mission: to form a leadership access to positions of consultants and professionals, with local authorities recently established. This sector has set its priority on the establishment of innovative agricultural techniques protecting the environment. The use of ICT guarantees wider choices and external competencies for a more rational use of their crops and livestock. Taking advantage of more advanced technologies, they will get an efficient outcome by emphasizing their knowledge on tastes, spices, plants and ancestral techniques inherited since several generations. Through workshops, the gathered associations in this sector want to innovate and share their knowledge of sensitive partners to their type of action... access restricted to members and partners...
